VITAS – CHARISMA AND GIFT
He is a singer who doesn`t require an ordinary promotion. Vitas needs only to be listened and seen on the stage, and it is enough. His magnetic way to prepare his songs, to address himself to people, telling the musical story which he chose to put into words and sounds, his personal way to mix his show with his clothes always according with the scenario of his songs, is impressive. His main theme is – as we expected somehow from his sort of vocal colour – to embody the purity of human being in his own, through all the complex, wide aspects of this idea.
The image of pure friendship and love and, at the same time, the very close relationship with a high spirituality – Master of Universe who created the world and guided his creation – fill up his songs with substance directing, above all the other subjects, his music.
Vitas (Vita signifying the joy of Life translated as Light which opposites darkness and bad fate) has deep roots into the earth of his native land shown by using its language and wearing its subtle spirituality: these give him strength and the particular colour of his artistic identity – a mixture of tenderness, strong feelings, a melancholic perfume which characterizes the Slavic soul, and the tendence to externalize the inner emotions changing it in unexpected, powerful, dynamic explosions.
At the same time, Vitas gives to his listeners a sort of equilibrium, of quietness coming from a self respect and a self control which maintain his personality above the common aspects of ordinary life. He wants to be in touch with people – through his musical sounds and words – but we are speaking about a very rarisim relation between him and his listeners, a relation based on the beauty of his compositions` high meanings. Generally, when Vitas sings, between the performer-composer (most of the time) and his public a communion of meanings is established – step by step – whose purpose is to determine and give off prielnic instincts born from the desăvârÈ™it of beauty, friendship, happiness and goodness.
In a impure world, Vitas` music helps men to surpass the difficult states of mind. The mixture of poetry – beyond words and sounds, music warmth, visual attraction of his dichisit movements (each of them inspired from the musical subjects) and, above all, his undoubted charismatic mimics and expression of his body constitute – certainly – the key of Vitas` success.
He doesn`t need to “play” with the microphone, walking it on his clothes (proving that he really sings and doesn`t make playback using only the recorded tape), because Vitas` voice is so powerful, full of harmonics and so well controlled that he can sing, for a few minutes, without amplified means (like he did at the rehearsal, playing with different high and low sounds); he can maintain an unique sound so long as it seems unreal, without any physical effort, thanks to his singular vocal technique and native qualities.
But, most important, Vitas` music is alive, breathes in a normal way and enjoys all the moments on stage, proving the artist scenic sense and his pure joy of life, contagious not only for fans but for anybody who decides to listen his songs. He is here for us, a spot of colour in a sepia distorted world, so preoccupied on the material aspects of its existence that it forgets to live.
“Don`t lose your dreams, your love and your hope”, Vitas` songs are saying. The Bird of happiness is in yourself, you must only recover it from all your heart.

nu vreau sa fiu rea... deci, fara suparare... extra articolul... dar ca sa fiu putin carcotasa...de ce se ambitioneaza mulțimea sa
scrie in engleza, cu riscul de a face greseli gramaticale care deranjeaza si diminueaza frumusetea articolului?..

Nu e chestie de ambitie. L-am postat si pt. a fi corectat, pt. ca l-am terminat tarziu in noapte si - pe cat m-am uitat la el nu mi-am dat seama de greseli. Trebuia sa-l dau unei colege prof. de engleza sa-l corecteze dar n-am mai apucat. Scrie-mi pe: loredana_baltazar@yahoo.com.
Iar in privinta limbii, pt. romana voi avea un alt articol, care priveste concertul de la Sala Palatului (+Zamfir). Cel de aici e putin mai general, pe care am dorit sa-l trimit si sitului lor.
